I am presently reading The Healing Self by Deepak Chopra and Rudolph Tanzi. In one chapter on developing whole immunity they draw on Tanzi's work at Harvard with Alzheimer patients. The insights of earlier studies on reversing aging were applied; whenever persons are reinserted in a life pattern that resembles an earlier more youthful time in life when they were more nimble, stronger and full of energy - such as the time of their adolescence, for instance - the subjects felt, looked and acted younger; they became more the age of the story they entered.

When it comes to music there is a restorative quality to immersing a person in the music of their youth. Research with those experiencing the symptoms of Alzheimers found dramatic turnarounds - calmer, less agitated, more able to focus, awakening from a catatonic state - when they were immersed in the music of their youth.  So arose Tanzi's Spark Memories Radio ( http://sparkmemoriesradio.com/ ). You simply indicate age and musical preferences and the program downloads a musical playlist that stimulates the mind at the earlier age. Incredible responses are common. There is even an APP to download.

It is true: There exists a remarkable unity of mind-body-spirit. It manifests in our immunity to disease, physical malady, strength and vitality, and even length of life. It is well-documented that those who receive touch, have meaningful human contact, stay active, enjoy animal companions, continue to stimulate their minds, and have a grounded communally based spiritual foundation are more resilient in almost every measure.

As we read in so many scriptures, we are what we believe, the healing power is available, and there is a one-to-one correlation between harmony of mind and wholeness of body. The primary motive to be religious is to love and connect with God. But who could have ever imagined that the number one byproduct of that is better health and longer life?
