Senator of the Week Courtney Yamagiwa

Senator of the Week Courtney Yamigawa

Senator Yamagiwa has been a Senator for the College Health and Human Services for just under a year, but has been in student leadership for some time, all while being  a double major in consumer affairs and German

This semester, Yamagiwa and her fellow senators have  been working on "The Beach Against the Increase" resolution. Its aim is to combat the potential CSU-wide tuition increase. Yamagiwa and her fellow co-authors have spent many hours on the resolution articulating the voice and concerns of LBSU students against the potential increase.

"This  resolution  is important because it  shows that the students of [Long Beach State] are all in this together, and the students at-large are representing them in the fight against the tuition increase," Yamigawa said. "We want to do everything in our power to stop it from happening, and we're calling on our administrators to take a stance with us."
