PTSA NEWS
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello Everyone,  Happy New Year! At the last general PTSA meeting, the student panorama survey results were discussed and the issue over a sense of belonging by the students was noted.  A portion of students indicated on the survey that this was something they did not feel at this school.  As the school and staff and even students explore more on this subject, the ISPTSA would also like to help move forward with this issue.  As a start, we are proposing a Question of the Week that is asking our membership what gave them a sense of belonging in MS or HS.  You will note on the questions that we did not ask if PTSA was a contributing factor.  The survey is to help us get responses of what provided a sense of belonging for you as a student.  Please take the time to answer this quick survey so we can also help contribute to the well being of our students.
It wouldn't be fair though if I didn't put a plug in for participation as an adult with IS or our PTSA.  Participation can take on many forms; volunteering for teacher appreciation events, helping out in a classroom, field trip driver, ISPTSA Board members, helping with budgets and grants, chaperoning at ASB events and more, but the ultimate goal is meeting other people, teachers and staff and creating community at IS.  Creating community is hard work but it opens new avenues when we have it.   Help us to create this by your  participation, becoming a member and financial support.

"Community Creates Success at IS"

ISPTSA President 2017-2018
