Carol holds her Charter Professional of the Year award from IYBA.

Greetings, dear reader,

It's been a busy 2018 already and I'm thrilled to share some exciting news! On January 27th, the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA) bestowed upon me their Charter Professional of the Year award.

As I told my colleagues at the awards ceremony, I'm honored to be singled out for this award among the many yacht brokers, management companies, and maritime-affiliated members who have built this organization.

Choosing a yacht charter generally means choosing a broker. Clients require someone who has knowledge of the industry and of the destinations, activities, cuisines and experiences that they desire.  There's no app for this!

Additionally, last year I was elected Vice President of the American Yacht Charter Association (AYCA) where I also serve as the Public Relations Chair.

So you can see, dear reader, that there will be a lot to report in the world of yacht charters so please read on and stay tuned.

This is a great time to visit The Caribbean.
Recent reports of travel there are glowing.
Caribbean Comeback...Kids!

As the Caribbean rebuilds, now is the time to visit.

Read the glowing reports from recent Caribbean yacht vacationers in  our blog post HERE.

You might ask yourselves, "Why go to the Virgin Islands now?"  One of the best and most important reasons to go is to experience the incredible recovery work that has been done during this Caribbean yachting comeback.

The second reason to visit now is to  support the Caribbean economy where tourism is the #1 industry. Without visitors, it will be tough for the islands to get through this period and rebuild to even better than before.
We've been reaching out to our yachting connections to get feedback from crews and clients recently and currently in the Caribbean and the news is good!

The 5-star AQUA MEKONG on the Mekong River
Cruising Cambodia and Vietnam on the Mekong Delta

Wednesday, February 28, 7:00-8:00pm
at the Marblehead Yacht Club, Marblehead, MA

if you're on Boston's North Shore on Februrary 28, please  join me for this travel presentation about my recent trip down one of the largest rivers in Southeast Asia, the Mekong. Aboard the AQUA MEKONG's only 5-star 20 guest/20crew cruise ship we discovered many gems on both land and sea.

Thanks to the impact of Ken Burn's HBO Vietnam War documentary and the surprising contrast from the years of war to today's tourism boom in Cambodia and Vietnam, this exciting region is now on the world's radar.

Sure, we have to sail the best boats to gorgeous destinations with fabulous crew and eat gourmet cuisine now and then - but someone has to do it!

How often do you book your travel through a faceless company? We want you to know who you are working with.

Charter rates are based on 7 nights/8 days. The charter fee generally only covers the rental of the yacht and its crew.

Plus expenses  means an Applied Provisioning Allowance (APA) is charged in advance then reconciled at the end of the charter. It's an additional fee which covers extras such as food, drink, fuel, berthing costs, customs, communications, etc. The APA is the standard system to pay your expenses on a luxury yacht charter. The average APA is 35% of the yacht charter fee.

Crew gratuity is at client discretion; 15% is customary.

Charter rates are subject to change without notice.
