NESTLÉ AND YELLOW DOOR ENERGY SIGN 7MWP SOLAR LEASE PROJECT
Nestlé Middle East has selected  Yellow Door Energy  as the solar provider for three manufacturing sites in Dubai. The signing ceremony was witnessed by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). Yellow Door Energy's lease-to-own model enables Nestlé to benefit from solar power with no upfront capital investment, protect the environment, reduce the carbon footprint, as well as reduce costs.  [Read More]




DUBAI SOLAR PARK R&D INVESTMENTS SET TO REACH DH500M by 2020
Investments into the research and development centre at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park will reach Dh500 million by 2020, according to DEWA.  DEWA said in September that it had selected Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power and China's Shanghai Power to build the Dh14.2 billion, 700MW extension to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Complex, providing more than three times the capacity of the initial plans for the extension. LAUNCH OF QUALIFICATION PROCESS (RfQ) FOR PROPOSED 500MW SOLAR PROJECT
An RfQ for Oman's first utility scale solar Independent Power Project has been issued by  Oman Power and Water Procurement Company , paving the way for the accelerated adoption of renewables as a source of power generation in the Sultanate. The landmark project, which will be located in Wilayat of Ibri in Al Dhahirah Governorate, will offer 500 MW of generation capacity based on PV technology. [Read More]
 


OMAN TARGETS 3,000MW GREEN ENERGY BY 2025
Oman plans to implement a number of solar and wind-based electricity projects by 2025, which will yield between 2,500 and 3,000 MW of power capacity, a top official of  OPWP has stated "The Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council has obligated OPWP to ensure that a minimum 10 per cent of energy production comes from renewable resources by 2025. Our aim is to exceed that target with commitments for at least two projects by 2019, with huge renewables based capacity being established definitely by 2025," Yaqoob Saif Hamood al Kiyumi, CEO of OPWP was quoted as saying in an Oman Observer report.
