Word from the Board

A Word from the Board - Steve Martin

It's a privilege to serve on the Board of Directors of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce. I am not making that up. This is an excellent organization, with a great staff and a tremendous number of committed and hard-working volunteers serving in many ways.

For example, much of the behind-the-scenes work of the Chamber is done through its committees, all comprised of volunteers giving of their time and efforts to make your Chamber experience more meaningful and valuable.

One of those committees is the Legislative Committee and I'm pleased to serve again as the Board liaison to this committee.

The Legislative Committee seeks out legislative issues from the local to the national level that may be of interest to our Chamber's membership. Further, we host a number of programs for Chamber members throughout the year, featuring a variety of speakers and elected officials representing government at the local, county, state and national level.

Check the Chamber Newsletter and emails for dates and details on the Legislative Mixer, the City Update, the Kane County Update, the State Update, the Federal Update, and a Legislative "Hot Topic." Attending these programs give you a chance to hear what's happening and to have your voice heard.

I look forward to seeing you at one or more of the Legislative Committee's programs and maybe some of the many ribbon-cutting ceremonies through the year.
