The Autism Society of Los Angeles (ASLA) has made great strides across all our programs and services in 2017 to help families and individuals across all developmental disabilities, develop advocacy skills and become educated on how to navigate the multiple support systems in California to improve their quality of life.
 
ASLA is THE resource in the Los Angeles disability community responsible training thousands of family members, individuals with disabilities, and professionals.   Day by day, we are engaged in community activities in the Los Angeles area. Our initiatives include:
 
  • Public policy and advocacy work
  • Trainings of medical professionals
  • Trainings on Self-Determination
  • A Resource Warm-line
  • Training of Law Enforcement
  • Conferences and educational events
  • Annual Camp for young adults
  • Parent Empowerment Project (PEP), reducing ethnic disparities for individuals and families served by Westside Regional Center.
  • Self-Advocate Speakers Bureau.
