Looking Back So You Can Move Forward
As we start the New Year, I would suggest that you spend a few minutes and look back on 2017. Make a list of all the things that went right in your business and another list of all the things that did not go so well. Why would you want to do this? Because these lists can be the framework for a 2018 plan for your business.
Think about it, if you can duplicate or even enhance and build on those things that went well in 2017, then this year could be even better! Conversely, if you eliminate the things that did not work out so well, you could have more time to focus on the positives in your business. Further, if items on your list of things that did not go well can't be eliminated entirely, you might want to take this opportunity to improve on the processes or procedures so that the same mistakes are not duplicated in 2018.
Essential Requirements For An Ordered Society

By HL Harkins a Silver Fox Advisor
An ordered society is essential for the ongoing existence of our national well-being whereby most citizens are able to experience an acceptable degree of contentment with their individual status within the greater society. Certain basic conditions have existed in order to reach these desired individual goals, and these conditions, described below, establish a foundation to build upon........the requisite for this initiative.
The first condition is a family unit base. Historically, this consisted of a complete family group of parents, children and close relatives. In contrast, today, after extensive urban migration and societal changes, the extended family group may consist of support groups that have missions to fulfill some of the roles of the traditional family group. The family unit base provides for life training and the earliest education for the children. In addition to the early essential nurturing and training, a forum is created that can be lifelong, providing a safe haven at any stage of life for all family members.

Monthly Marketing Tip

You Can't Manage What You Can't Control
Too many business owners and sales managers are focused on sales peoples' results, not their activity. I realize sales results, bottom line improvement and increasing revenues are important when managing sales people. However, you are working on the wrong end of the problem. Don't manage quotas, manage the activities and behaviors of you sales people. After all, how can you control which prospect is going to become your customer? If you knew your sales person was on track this month for the number of attempts, appointments, referrals, sales and yes, even "no's", that it takes to be successful in your business, then you would spend less time worrying about production and more time managing what you can control, his behavior.
By the way, do you know how many attempts and appointments it takes to get an order from each of your prospect sources?
