What a difference a year makes! I remember how I felt a year ago at this time, stunned that the first woman president had not been elected, and wondering where we go from here.

I could not predict the optimism and strength that I feel today, joined by so many others and in particular, men. If there is one thing that has happened in 2017, it is that men are more deeply engaged in seeking solutions to inequities improperly characterized as "women's issues." This paradigm shift has as much to do with economics as cultural attitudes but nonetheless, it is working in the right direction. Thanks to all of you for standing up for women in this landmark year!

Today we close 2017 in a post-Weinstein world in which women are empowered to speak up, stand up, and take action. We look forward to 2018 and its potential for change! With your support, we will continue to advance women in Vermont and empower our young women and girls to reach their highest potential.

Warmest wishes for the New Year,
Meg

PS: There's still time to make a year-end donation – you can dedicate it in honor of a woman who has had a special impact in your life!
