Gazebo Upgrades Taking Place
Last year, many Lakesiders gave gifts on #GivingTuesday to help renovate the Steele Memorial Bandstand/Gazebo. Because of your generosity, we will be gathering at a refreshed Gazebo next summer for family concerts, activities and weddings.

As we exit our busy season of events and activities, the park is being prepared for construction teams to arrive and get to work on revamping the Gazebo for next summer. To improve the aesthetics of the space, a fresh coat of white paint will be added, along with a new roof. Our Grounds Crew will enhance the landscaping with new shrubs this fall and add new perennial and annual flowers in the spring. Read more...
Lakesiders Invited to New Conference
The Lakeside Heritage Society (LHS) invites historians, museum professionals, librarians, students and all Lakesiders with an interest in history to attend their first conference, The Art of Storytelling.

Historians have the unique challenge of making history come alive through the interpretation of compelling stories. Whether through an oral history, the written word or displaying an artifact, they meet this challenge by packaging information in a new and exciting form.

Join the LHS from October 26-28 as they explore novel ways to present research, engage with audiences and promote stories.
