14th International Family Nursing Conference: Washington, DC (USA) August 13 - 16, 2019

The IFNA Conference Committee, co-chaired by Dr. June Horowitz (USA) and Dr. Sonja Meiers (USA), has announced the venue and date for the 14th International Family Nursing Conference (IFNC14) in 2019. IFNA is grateful for the support of Linda B. Talley, RN, MS, NE-BC, Vice President and Chief Nurse Officer at Children's National Health System (Children's National) and the regional academic and service partners of Children's National, in developing this venue plan.  The conference theme will be announced shortly. 
FAMILY NURSING PRACTICE NEWS 
Teresa Gutiérrez-Alemán (Spain), is a full-time doctoral student in Nursing Science at the University of Navarra who is working with Dr. Ana Canga Armayor (Spain) in a program of research that is examining the implementation of Family Systems Nursing (FSN) theory to clinical practice at the University Hospital.  Teresa is currently a member of the IFNA Practice Committee . FAMILY NURSING EDUCATION NEWS 
IFNA sponsored a booth at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) in Washington, DC, USA, October 29th, 2017. The purpose of the display was to communicate the mission of IFNA to those attending this Conference sponsored by a key nursing policy organization for nursing education in the USA. [Read more]



The IFNA Education Committee is pleased to announce that the IFNA Position Statement on Graduate Family Nursing Education was approved by the IFNA Board of Directors on October 12, 2017. This new IFNA Position Statement is being prepared for dissemination and will be available on the IFNA website shortly.

FAMILY NURSING RESEARCH NEWS 
Dr. Sivia Bar-Noy (Israel) , is an Associate Professor and Head of the Graduate Program, Nursing Department, Tel Aviv University. Her teaching and program of research focuses on the social, psychological, ethical, and legal aspects of genetics. [Read more]
 



Susanne Broekema (the Netherlands) is a doctoral student at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Research Group Nursing Diagnostics in Groningen. She is working with Dr. Marie Louise Luttik (the Netherlands) in a program of research that focuses on training in, experiences with, and effects of family nursing conversations, specifically in home health care.
