Strive to be more
Dear Parents,
The month of February has come to a close with some wonderful events.  This past Saturday,
the second grade students continued their
spiritual journey by celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation in the Cathedral of  St. Thomas More.  Please continue to keep these students in your prayers as they prepare for their First Holy Communion on Saturday, May 5 th .

On Monday evening, the 1 st and 2 nd families gathered for Math Family Game Night in the STM Cafeteria (see photos below). Parents were able to experience the kind of hands-on activities the children use in class to learn math concepts.  It was a successful event that will definitely be repeated next year!

We are pleased to announce that tomorrow morning the middle school students will gather in Burke Hall to attend a STEM presentation by A ngela Leimkuhler Moran, a materials engineering scientist who works and teaches at the U. S. Naval Academy.
Dr. Moran will speak with the students as part of her outreach program that encourages students to pursue careers in science technology, engineering and math. This program is sponsored by the USA Science & Engineering Festival Expo to be held on April 7-8 in Washington, DC.   St. Thomas More Cathedral School is one of fifty schools in the nation who were chosen to host a guest lecturer in anticipation of the USA Science & Engineering Festival Expo. We thank Mrs. Raylene Rozzi for nominating STM School and for coordinating this special event.

In closing, please be aware that Mrs. McCormack remains on a leave of absence so that she can assist with her mother's care.  I ask for your prayers for Mrs. McCormack, her family, and her mother, Jeanne Synan, during this difficult time.

God Bless,

Nelda D. Thomas, M.Ed.
Assistant Principal
