One of the most important functions of the union is to collect money for you, our members. But sometimes checks are waiting for you at the union that you may not know about. We want to make sure that you get paid!

In the upcoming March issue of Allegro, we're publishing a master list of all checks that the union is currently holding. For a sneak preview, you can visit this page on our website. Please claim your money! Be sure to explore all of the links on the page to search for checks owed to you by the Local 802 Recording Checks Department, the Sound Recording Special Payments Fund, the Film Musicians Secondary Market Fund, the AFM & SAG-AFTRA Fund, Soundexchange, AARC, and the escrow fund of New York State.

Do your friends a favor -- if you see their names on any of these lists, let them know. And when you claim your check, make sure that we have your current address on file.

The following bylaw amendment will be proposed and voted on at the June 6 membership meeting at 5 p.m. at  Local 802:

NEW LANGUAGE IS UNDERLINED: Article III, section 5: (a)...A further portion of the amount thus collected by the Union equivalent to one-quarter of one percent (0.25%) of all scale earnings on which work dues are collected by Local 802 shall be dedicated for use in Public Relations programs. Such programs may include the Emerging Artists Project (EAP) and any other similar program meant to increase the union's membership and bargaining unit work available to the union's membership. The amount of any grants awarded as part of such program shall not exceed the actual amount of funding established by the Executive Board available for such program at that time. The Union will notify its members of the status of such program on an annual basis.

Submitted by Sara Cutler #C07006. The Executive Board has reported this amendment favorably.
