Naval Medical Point Loma's OASIS Treatment Program

Our Pegasus Rising herd is pleased to announce that we are working again on Sunday mornings with  Naval Medical Point Loma's OASIS  (Overcoming Adversity & Stress Injury Support) residential treatment program for active duty service members with PTSD.

Our herd first began providing their services to OASIS in July, 2011 and we are excited to be working again with these active duty service members who reside at Naval Medical Point Loma for an acute 8 week treatment program for their service related PTSD/TBI.

Holes For Heroes Golf Tournament

We are deeply grateful to the Downtown Breakfast Rotary Club Foundation, Holes for Heroes, and the Dr. David Theno Patriot Fund for their joint $27,000 donation to Pegasus Rising as one of their charitable beneficiaries at their golf tournament which was held on September 15, 2017 at Lomas Santa Fe Country Club. This annual event has made a huge difference for our all volunteer non profit and we are proud to be recognized in such a significant way!


Eagle Scout Project Provides Shade Shelters for Our Pegasus Herd

Our heartfelt thanks and admiration go out to Eagle Scout Gabriel Delgado. Gabe and his father, Santiago, took on the daunting task of designing and installing a total of nine shade shelters in our mares' paddock 2 and geldings' paddock 3.

 

This project took a couple months of design and logistics planning, was finally completed on Christmas Eve, and our entire herd now has protection from the elements!

President's Message

I t is now almost nine years since I joined as a Pegasus Rising volunteer on June 1, 2009 to run this wonderful project.  We are very proud to be able to continue to serve so many while remaining an all volunteer project.  While we have always been an all volunteer grass roots organization, we need to take the next step and obtain adequate funding so that we can provide vocational opportunities for our country's veterans as they transition into their civilian lives.
 
Please do everything you can to spread the word about our Veterans Recycling Program as we need to grow this environmentally friendly program so that we can provide veterans with vocational opportunities. We are marching towards our goal of hiring veterans so that Pegasus Rising is run by veterans for veterans and we cannot do it without your financial support!
 
Please find it in your hearts to donate today to our worthy cause so that we can help our special herd "pay it forward" and aid our returning U.S. service members in healing and reintegrating into their civilian lives.
