During this festive season, a flurry of emotions whirl as we attempt to choose the ideal gift, or host a family gathering, or to create the perfect holiday. As much as we strive for nostalgic bliss like the song suggests, I recognize that often not all is merry & bright.  Most of us have circumstances that can dampen our celebrations. You may be experiencing family strife, grieving the loss of a loved one, or struggling through the trenches of disappointment.

But I want to concentrate on my blessings, like you. I'm extremely grateful for your support and encouragement. Without readers like you, I would have given up writing long ago. Instead, I anxiously await the release of my next novel,  Starting from Scratch, this coming April. Yay!

I've often joked that it's easier for me to write a whole book than a card. Last Saturday when we took our grandson shopping at an old-fashioned mercantile store, I spied a box of sparkly Christmas cards I couldn't resist. Later, as I piled our purchases on the kitchen table I looked at that box and thought: Who am I kidding? I'm terrible at writing and mailing cards.

So, I'm delighted to send you this short note to wish you all my best! Please accept my combination Christmas greeting and Thank You note. It may only be email, but it comes from my heart.
