Office Hours
Michael Levine, our Temple Administrator will be away until the beginning of March. The Personnel Committee has offered to staff the office while he is away. They will be staffing the office on the following days and times. If you need assistance, you are welcome call or stop by during these times, and they will do their best to assist you. Michael will be working remotely, so you may email him and he will reply. Also, the covering staff will be able to communicate with him in order to assist you, if they are unable to.

The American Red Cross has a critical need for blood and platelet donors to give now to help address a winter blood donation shortage caused by severe winter weather in parts of the country and widespread flu.
- Right now, blood and platelet donations are being distributed to hospitals faster than they come in.
- Donors can help even more patients when they invite a loved one, friend or co-worker to give with them.

Class continues with the first Webinar
Thursday, March 1 | Noon
Memory is a central element in defining modern Jewish identity. As we look to Israel's future, we need to engage anew with our past and explore its meanings and consequences. Through the consideration of major historic moments, this iEngage series grapples with the different ideas and values that shape the meaning of Modern Israel, Zionism, and Jewish identity today.
This innovative course explores the pivotal events of 1947 and 1967 - following the 1917 Balfour Declaration - as key moments when Zionism unleashed new thinking about the meaning of Jewishness for generations to come. The course engages Jews in an open and pluralistic discussion about issues of Jewish identity, peoplehood, ethics and theology as they relate to nationhood, land, sovereignty, Jerusalem, occupation, and moral red lines.
Course dates are: Feb. 4, 11, & 18, Mar. 11, 18 & 25, Apr. 8, and May 6 at 10:00 a.m. Additionally, there are three webinars led by Scholars from the URJ and Israel on March 1, April 12, and May 17, all Thursdays, all at noon.
These video sessions originate from the Hartman Institute and are facilitated on site by Bruce Hicken.
This course is made possible by a generous grant from the URJ and ARZA and is being offered for free to Temple Sinai members and non-members. Source readings will be provided for free in PDF format. These readings are also available in a printed book, which you may order yourself from the Hartman Institute for $20.00.
Donations are gladly accepted. All participants do need to sign up in advance, even if you cannot attend all classes.

Purim Event sponsored by Temple Sinai
Vermont's greater Jewish Community is hosting a Purim Masquerade Ball and Political Theater w/dance and merriment!
Come celebrate springtime and be entertained as we witness the wild re-telling of the Book of Esther and the skewering of our political leaders and recent events. The Ball is non-religious and dedicated to the experience of turning everything upside down and inside out. Led off by the Brass Balagan Orchestra, the evening will be filled with dancing to the sounds of Barika and strong spirits. There will be a cash bar and an awesome live band! this is a 21+ event!

Adults Only Purim Party
Saturday, March 10
Kick off the shackles of winter, book the babysitter, throw on a costume and your dancing shoes and join us on Saturday, March 10 for our Adults Only Purim party. Do Purim like they do it in Israel--any kind of costume will do! Come ready to dance, sing and act a little crazy. Our house rock band, Dahg, will help us rock out. Meg Cossaboom will teach us a couple of "grown up" dances and David Wright will have the karaoke machine warmed up and ready to go! So, let your hair down and come party with us!! Beer, wine, apps and snacks provided. If you wish, bring your own spirits.
TIME: 7-10:30 PM
WHERE: Temple Sinai Social Hall
SUGGESTED DONATION: $18/person to cover the food and to benefit Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf
