Supervisors to Vote on C&S Kray Real Estate, LLC and Sheetz Conditional Use Application

The Board of Supervisors will consider, and if approved by formal action, adopt a decision in the matter of Conditional Use Request No. 2017-04, as filed by C&S Kray Real Estate, LLC and Sheetz, Inc. at their meeting on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, 7:00 p.m., at the Derry Township Municipal Building, 600 Clearwater Road, Hershey.

The petitioners request that Conditional Use authorizations be granted under the provisions of Chapter 225 (Zoning, Section 225-501.19) of the Derry Township Code of Ordinances regarding the development of a ‘major fuel service establishment’ and from Section 225-501.29
regarding the development of a ‘large-scale retail’ establishment. The property is located at the southwest
corner of the intersection of Governor Road and Fishburn Road, Hershey.
Derry Township is Hiring Seasonal Laborers

The Public Works Department is accepting applications for immediate openings for seasonal laborers. The work will consist of grounds and park maintenance, leaf collection, and snow removal. The starting wage is $14.00 an hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a current valid PA driver's license. Call 717-533-2057, option 4 for more information.

Central PA Blood Bank will collect blood at the Hershey Public Library on Monday, January 22, 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Please come to donate a pint of blood. No appointment is required, but bring ID and eat within four hours of coming to donate. 

All donors will receive two FREE admission vouchers to the Harrisburg Comedy Zone Show, Seltzer's Smokehouse Bologna, and a T-shirt.
Coffee With a Cop is Scheduled for Tuesday,
February 6

Coffee With a Cop will be held on Tuesday, February 6 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Starbucks, Tanger Outlets, Hershey. This is an opportunity for community members, visitors, business partners, and members of the Derry Township Police Department to meet and connect over a cup of coffee.

Write and Share Your Story

Students in grades sixth and up can register to join Annika Sundberg to   write and share your story with others on Wednesday, January 24 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., at the Hershey Public Library, 701 Cocoa Avenue.

Make your writing stronger and craft the best story you can write. The stories will be bound in a book and put in the library! You can order your own copy as well.

Interested in Becoming a Member of the Hershey Community Chorus?

The Hershey Community Chorus is looking to add new members. Come to the first rehearsal for the 2018 spring concert on Monday, January 22, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hershey Free Church, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown, and check them out. A rehearsal will also be held on Monday, January 29, at the Hershey Free Church.

New members can register for the upcoming season at the first or second rehearsal. The registration fee is $30.00 which helps cover the cost of music and other expenses. 

Rehearsals will be held Monday evenings 7:00 to 9:15 p.m., at the Hershey Free Church. Dress rehearsal will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at the First United Methodist Church of Hershey. The concerts will be held on Friday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hershey and Sunday, May 20 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Hummelstown. 

The Chorus is a non-audition group and welcomes all voice parts. If you think you’d like to sing, please drop by, meet the members, and get answers to your questions. Call 717- 508-4400, or email info@HersheyCommunityChorus.org for more information.
Manada Conservancy Presents Nature Therapy - The Health Benefits of Spending Time in Nature

The Manada Conservancy will offer an educational program presented by Dr. Matthew Silvis titled Nature Therapy: The Health Benefits of Spending Time in Nature on Thursday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the South Hanover Township. Hershey Horticulture Society's February Meeting Understanding Flower Show Design

The Hershey Horticulture Society will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, February 5 at the Brownstone, 215 W. Governor Road, Hershey.

The program, "Why Did I Say Yes?", is presented by Eileen Hoover on basic flower design, understanding the flower show schedule, and creative design. The business meeting begins at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch and the program at 1:00 p.m. Guests are welcome. Call 717-579-6635 for more information.
A Caribbean Celebration Will be Held to Benefit The Mortel High Hopes For Haiti Foundation

Please join us on Saturday, February 10 at Purcell Friendship Hall, Milton Hershey School to celebrate 20 years of providing education to the poorest of the poor in Haiti. 

The evening will offer dinner and dancing, including a presentation by students from CASA (Capital Area School for the Arts), along with a silent auction. Please visit www.highhopesforhaiti.org for more information and to purchase tickets.
