From the Director...
I saw the tip of a bulb pushing up through the Earth last week and I smiled. Hope. Hopeful that despite what Punxsutawney Phil predicted, Spring is around the corner. To me, Spring has always felt like the start of the new year. Full of promise; the bursting forth of blooms and color; dusting off of sneakers and bicycles – all of us pushing out of the darkness and cold like the bulb, our faces to the warm sun. At the library, Spring brings newness and the anticipation of what is to come. Our annual budget vote and new trustee elections happen in April and planning for the summer reading program brings commitments of new performances and partnerships. Our pollinator garden will get a makeover and provide a beautiful waystation for the traveling monarch butterflies. Building upgrades will continue into the warm months with a new site sign out front to inform you of library happenings, and the roof will be repaired and replaced. So join us as this season of renewal unfolds and come see what’s new for you at the library.
Happy Spring!
