Research Paper Friday

Friday's academic event started the annual research paper season for the secondary students. Starting in 5th grade and continuing throughout the rest of their middle and high school experience, Lake Pointe students develop the  art of researching a topic and then crafting that information into a quality paper. With each progressive year, students' papers are expected to be a little longer, more articulate, and contain more specific citations. This process aids students as they prepare for college-level writing in the future.

Snow Day Fun
Snow may have limited the number of on-campus days this week, but many LPA students still took the opportunity to fellowship together and play in the snow.

Visiting Alumni
How exciting to have alumni home from college and attending LPA activities like last week's basketball game and the recent secondary retreat!

All Campus Meeting
Mark your calendars for this year's all campus meeting on the evening of the February 20th.This is our annual time to present the plan for the following school year and to kick off the registration season.

In and around the classrooms

What type are you?
Students pricked their own fingers, collected blood samples, and mixed chemical compounds to reveal their blood type during a biology lab this week. The results showed a sweeping range of blood types, even one rare type, that helps to illuminate the creativity of God.

Wrapped up for Winter Recess
With winter weather of rain and snow outdoor recess is not always guaranteed for  elementary students. On Tuesday, students and staff wrapped up to enjoy time out in the sunshine.
Both the varsity teams won in Columbia earlier this week against Grace Christian School. Friday night, the boys' junior varsity and varsity teams faced the Warriors of Walnut Grove Christian School, and the varsity girls played the Clover High School junior varsity team at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.
