DESSERT SOCIAL FRI., MAR. 9 AFTER THE TALENT SHOW
Immanuell's PTL is looking for a few bakers (or buyers) to bring in treats (brownies, cookies, etc.) for the PTL-sponsored Dessert Social that follows the Sharing Our Talents Show. Please consider helping by bringing treats to the school office any time on Fri., Mar. 9. This is not a bake sale, just an opportunity for fellowship...with sweets! Non-Public School Scholarship Applications
Application Process is Now Open!
Step one of the Empower Illinois scholarship application process is available now through  empowerIllinois.org
Please remember that families who plan to apply for ILS Need-Based Tuition Assistance must apply for an Invest in Kids Scholarship first .
ILS Tuition Assistance
If a family does not qualify for a tax credit scholarship through Empower Illinois, they may then apply for tuition assistance from Immanuel through Smart Aid. The cost of the application, which is completed online, is $35 per family. The deadline for Smart Aid applications is Tue., May 1. Further details about the application process are included in this flyer .
India Transformed!
Chapel offerings for March are being sent to India Transformed, an organization that engages caring people to invest in Christ’s transforming ministry among India’s needy. It takes the gospel to unreached people and shares God’s love by caring for the poor and destitute across India. They empower Indian people to transform their communities, nation and the world. Look for information in Friday Folders and read about Rajesh and his family.
Celebrating Immanuel's Athletes!
Immanuel's varsity boys basketball team earned the Christian Leadership Award at the Christ-Peoria Basketball Tournament Feb. 16-18.

JV boys ended their season with a Third Place finish at the St. Paul-Rochelle tournament this past weekend.

Immanuel's varsity girls basketball and cheer teams are going to State! Both teams are slated for their first competitions on Fri., Mar. 2. Students and staff will line the halls Thu., Mar. 1 at 2:55 PM to see them off. Wear spirit wear!

  • Cheer team competes at 7:15 PM at Concordia University-Chicago (River Forest) in Addison Hall.

Preschool Open Houses

Check out Immanuel’s preschool program at the Preschool Open House. Parents are invited to tour the facility, see preschool classrooms in action, and learn more about how to help get children ready for preschool. G4/5 Half Lock-In
FRI., MAR. 16, 6-10:30 PM
Students in grades 4 and 5 who attend Immanuel Lutheran Church and/or Immanuel Lutheran School are invited to an upcoming Half Lock-In. Immanuel’s director of children’s ministries/fourth grade teacher Mary Wert will lead the Lock-In, which will include games, Bible study, crafts, snacks, and fellowship. Permission slips are being distributed in Sunday School, ILS backpacks, and are available in the church and school lobbies and here . Adult chaperones are needed! To volunteer or to learn more about this event, contact Mary Wert.
Easter Egg Hunt
SAT., MAR. 24, 10:30 AM
Immanuel shares the true meaning of Easter with children preschool age through Grade 2 at the annual Easter Egg Hunt. After enjoying an engaging story of the first Easter morning, children enjoy hunting throughout the ILCS campus for plastic Easter Eggs filled with candy and other treasures. Make this an Easter tradition!

Adults and children Grades 4-8 can contact Mary Wert to indicate their willingness to volunteer to help with this event. Donations of wrapped candy are
being gratefully accepted in the church and school lobbies.

Easter Lilies
ORDER DEADLINE: SUN., MAR. 18
Easter lilies represent the Resurrection, purity, and innocence—being untainted by the world. They also represent a new season and a new birth—a New Life in Christ. The Altar Guild is taking orders for Easter lilies to beautify Immanuel’s worship spaces for the Easter season. Order forms are located in the school office. Please place completed forms, including payment, in the collection plate or in the church or school office. Members of the Altar Guild will be in the church office to take orders and answer questions the weekends of Mar. 3 and 11.
