The Northern District of New York Federal Court Bar Association held its 14th annual dinner on December 7, 2017, at the Hilton in Albany.

The Ceremonial Courtroom of the James T. Foley U.S. Courthouse was perhaps never so crowded as it was on the evening of November 16, 2017, when more than 200 people attended the reenactment of the 1873 trial of Susan B. Anthony.

On Saturday, October 21, 2017, in front of a roaring fireplace in Dineen Hall’s Levy Atrium at Syracuse University College of Law, 30 lawyers and law students eagerly watched a panel of practitioners and judges discuss the history of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York over the past 50 years.

John Duncan was the 2017 recipient of the Hon. James R. Duane Award, given by the FCBA to a distinguished member of the Bar who has carried on Judge Duane’s legacy of commitment to the practice of law, unswerving integrity, and tireless efforts on behalf of the people of New York.

FCBA President Mitchell J. Katz delivered these remarks at the FCBA Annual Meeting on December 7, 2017.

On Thursday, November 16, 2017, the United States District Court joined with government officials to welcome a group of new citizens to the country.
