Choice Applications for the 2018-2019 School Year are Due This Friday
 
They say you can never have a shortage of options. When you factor in 117 different campuses with more than 300 Career Academies and Choice Programs, the School District of Palm Beach County gives students more to choose from than ever before. Friday, January 26, is the Choice application deadline for the 2018-2019 school year.  Here's what you need to know before submitting your child's application...

The Just Read, Florida! Office and the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), in partnership with other FDOE offices, school districts, state organizations and agencies, are joining forces for the 10th annual statewide Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida!, scheduled for the week of January 22-26

More than 2,000 Palm Beach County children gathered at the South Florida Fairgrounds early on January 13, but their mission wasn't to sample the sweets or test out the rides.

Don' t Miss These Important Activities and Events!

   
The School District of Palm Beach County will observe Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Friday, February 2. Businesses and organizations throughout Palm Beach County are encouraged to show students how their classroom lessons apply in the workplace.

Students from kindergarten through 12th grade may participate in the event. Parents are encouraged to notify their child's school if their child will be absent from school to participate. Absences will be considered excused. Learn more...


Parents of high school juniors and seniors are invited to attend the School District of Palm Beach County's Historically Black College/University and Hispanic Serving Institution Parent Information Night on Tuesday, January 23. The event will take place from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. In addition to learning more about the institutions in attendance, parents will have the opportunity to learn more about financial aid options. Parking is free.


Calling all families!  The School District of Palm Beach County is proud to partner with  Barnes & Noble in honor of Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! 

Visit your local Barnes & Noble location between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, for an evening of family fun! When you present the above advertisement at checkout, Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of your purchase back to the District. The District will use proceeds to purchase additional multicultural texts for schools throughout Palm Beach County.  We hope to see you on Thursday night!

Circle February 17 on your calendar!  The School District of Palm Beach County has partnered with the  West Palm Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to bring the 2018 Educational Summit to  Palm Beach Lakes Community High School!
