What Is All of the Hype With Goat's Milk?

Just this month, we have given away over 60 pints of Answers goat milk for many of your dogs to try.  Many of you ask, "Why would I want to give my dog or cat goat's milk?"

Let us tell you why this product is such a nutritional powerhouse for your pets.

First and foremost, according to the Journal of American Medicine, "Goat milk is the most complete food known".  It is filled with trace minerals, vitamins, electrolytes, protein, enzymes and fatty acids. The body can digest goat's milk in 20 minutes. Even dogs with digestive issues are able to tolerate it.

Raw goat's milk is a wonderful source of probiotics and enzymes and can support a healthy microbiome. Because of this, goat's milk has been show to help with many common issues such as yeast, allergies, GI Issues, kidney issues, liver issues, diabetes and diarrhea.

In the 1930's, the Mayo Clinic developed the goat milk diet for humans. They called it "The Milk Cure."  People were only given goat's milk to drink for a minimum of 30 days to heal their chronic disease(s). Many of the patients were healed when it seemed nothing else would work.

For the last 4 years, Answers Pet Food has been using their fermented raw goat's milk on many different conditions such as systemic yeast, idiopathic scratching, seizures, urinary tract infections, lymphoma, chronic regurgitation and idiopathic diarrhea.  All but one case reported back to Answers saw 90% to 100% improvement. In the one case that did not see 90% plus improvement, it was determined that they needed to stay on the diet longer than 30 days. Unfortunately, the owner chose to discontinue as feeding only milk was difficult for their lifestyle.

We have a success story with our own dog Barbie, a Border Collie who is 2 months shy of turning 16.  She seemed like she just wasn't 100% herself. She wasn't digesting things well and did not have much of an appetite.  After looking at all of her blood work that didn't show anything to be concerned about, we decided to place her on the goat's milk diet.  There were some ups and downs along the way, but we decided to commit to it for 60 days.  We saw some very positive results including much more energy, an increase in appetite, improved mobility and overall, she became much more alert. That was over 6 months ago. She now gets about 1/2 of her daily calories from goat's milk and the other half from food. She is continuing to do well.

It is very easy to have your pet start reaping the benefits of goat's milk.  You can start by either adding a little to their food or serve it like dessert after they finish eating. We have several different brands to choose from including a local supplier.

Do you have more questions about goat's milk or the goat's milk diet?  Just ask us. We are here to help!
