A PARENT'S PRAYER

Thank You for my children, Lord; I know they are a gift from You. Daily I need Your strength and wisdom to train them in the way they should go.  Give me patience and a joyful heart; let me be an example of Your love and forgiveness.  Thank You, Father, for the honor of being a parent.
Amen.

Dear Parents,

I want to assure you that despite all the unexpected changes to our school calendar, the daily curriculum is our faculty's #1 priority.

As a reminder, school will be closed on Monday due to Nico Mallozzi's wake/funeral being held at St. Aloysius Church.

Catholic Schools Week is right around the corner. Please invite friends and family to join our faculty and staff for our Open House on Sunday, January 28th from 11:00-12:30 pm.

We are looking forward to our book fair, which is scheduled for the following dates: January 25th, January 26th and January 28th. The book fair gives us an opportunity to purchase some fun and interesting books to snuggle up with and read during these cold winter months.

Please know that we continue to clean the classrooms each and every day to insure a healthy environment for our students.

God Bless You!
Mr. Bardhyl Gjoka
Principal
To All Parents: The following email was sent to all families regarding school closing on Monday, January 22, 2018:

Dear Parents,
I would like to inform you that our school will be closed on Monday, January 22nd due to a funeral being held at St. Aloysius Church for Nico Mallozzi.

Nico, a fourth-grader at West School died suddenly on Sunday, January 14th. This decision to close the school was made after consulting with Fr. Rob, the Superintendent of Schools, and the New Canaan Police Chief. It is expected that a large number of people will attend the funeral and there will be a very large media presence. Traffic will be heavy onto the property as early as 8:00 AM.

The closing will give St. Aloysius School families the opportunity to attend the funeral and for us to continue performing deep cleaning treatments of our school building.

Details for the wake and service for Nico are as follows:
Wake: Sunday Jan 21, 2018 2-6 PM
Saint Aloysius Church (The 5PM Parish Mass will be held in the School Gym)

Funeral: Monday Jan 22-2018 10-11AM
St. Aloysius Church
21 Cherry St New Canaan, Ct

Please continue to pray for Nico and his family during this difficult time.
God Bless You.
Mr. Bardhyl Gjoka
Principal

We know our staff members are great, but here are some things you don't know.
This week featuring
Mrs Navarro
(Spanish Teacher)

1.) If you were not a teacher, what would you be and why?
If I were not a teacher I would like to be an Interior designer because I like to combine colors, fabrics and textures in order to create beautiful and cozy spaces. In my free time I help my friends with ideas and advise them on how to decorate their rooms. I always tell them that simple styling and beautiful colors can enhance any room.

2.) Do you have any hidden talents?
I think one of my hidden talents is cooking. Sometimes I can spend hours to preparer a great meal, or just few minutes to cook a simple recipe. Most of the time my family and friends are satisfied with the final taste. For me this the most important part is to spend time with people that I love and even more important that I am able to cook for them.

3.) Where were you born?
 I was born In PerĂº.

4.) What is your favorite thing about being a teacher?
My favorite thing about being a teacher is to see the impact that I have made on someone's life. To see my students and how much they enjoy learning the Spanish language. Also it makes me happy that they are not afraid to make mistakes in grammar or pronunciation because they know that we are here to learn from those errors. As an educator, the most important is to help my students to achieve their goals and motivate them to continue working hard and to do their best. Finally, listening to my students  sing a Spanish song or just talk in Spanish is my best reward. This motivated myself to do my best, not only for myself but also for my community, and my dear students.
