Holiday Passport Program Winners
 
During December, folks picked up a holiday passport from one of six Kamm's Corners merchants in a novel program that encouraged them to visit six recently opened, locally-owned businesses.  Passports with four or more stamps were turned in for prize drawings on Tuesday, January 2. Also that day, special prizes were offered in a Wellness Drawing for anyone who walked or biked to each location and earned a wellness sticker.

Pizza Bake-Off Set for Monday, January 22 
 
The 4th Annual West Park Pizza Bake-Off takes place on Monday January 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. inside the Saint Patrick Catholic Church gym, 4427 Rocky River Drive.Tickets include all-you-can-eat pizza and a drink. This year pre-sale tickets are available at participating pizza shops, and cost $10 for adults (13 and older) and $5 for children (ages 5 to 12). Ask your favorite pizza shop whether they have tickets. You can find an updated list on the event page on Facebook here.  
 
Pre-event tickets are available at the church rectory during normal business hours (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Tuesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. to noon). The rectory is closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Tickets at the door cost $12 for adults and $6 for children, but children younger than 5 dine free. Guests will vote for West Park's Best Pizza: Peoples Choice. Celebrity judges Ross Keller, owner of Italian Creations, Patty Harken of FOX 8 in the Morning, Carmen Angelo WTAM News Radio 1100, and Seth Williams from WTAM's Mike Trivisonno show, will crown West Park's Best Pizza. Fresh hot pizza will be available throughout the evening! To avoid the 5 o'clock rush arrive after 6 p.m. and check Facebook for up-to-the minute news and parking information.

Peace, Love, and Little Donuts Named to Top Ten!
 
 
 
Congratulations to West Park's own Peace, Love, and Little Donuts, 3786 Rocky River Drive, for ending 2017 as one of the 10 Best Donut Shops in Ohio. The feature article by "Best Thing Ohio -- Best of American Towns" states in part:
 
"Peace, Love, and Little Donuts of Westpark is the grooviest donut shop you'll ever enter, because donut people are groovy people. Their homemade hippie donuts have psychedelic sugary toppings and far out frostings that will make your day. So revisit the flower child days and stop in for a funkadelic doughnut."

Mayor Frank Jackson Scheduled for First District Community Relations Meeting Tonight
 
Join members of the community this evening, Thursday, January 4, in the cafeteria of Saint Ignatius of Antioch Church, 10205 Lorain Avenue, starting at 7 p.m. It is the First District Community Relations Committee Member monthly meeting, which is always on the first Thursday every month in this location. All are welcome. Please bring a canned good or household product to donate to the church for its community pantry. You are welcome to play some of the board games on hand at the shop or play your favorite card game with friends and family while enjoying a hot chocolate ice cream float or a hot fudge brownie sundae or any number of refreshing taste sensations -- all made on the premises. Several years after Blockbuster Video vacated the premises, the property at 15101 Lorain Avenue will have a new tenant: Triumph Motorcycles is opening a new flagship store there. Look for a complete interior and exterior renovation.
