Facebook Live: "Grading for Learning," Brought to you by Visger and Brickl!
The Baraboo School District went live!

On Monday, Jan. 8, Baraboo High School associate principals Mr. Visger and Mr. Brickl presented on Grading for Learning in a Facebook Live event.

In an effort to help our graduates be more college and career ready, Baraboo High School has been taking measures to improve communication about student performance and increase rigor experienced by students in the classroom. These measures are already in application in many classes. You can expect this to be building-wide and reflected on report for the 2018-19 school year.

Couldn't watch it live? No problem; the video is on our Facebook page for you to reference at your convenience.

CG Schmidt and EUA Career Pathway and Apprenticeship Partnership with BHS
In order to capitalize on the vast expertise of the contractors, laborers, and other professionals including architects, engineers, and project managers currently involved in the BHS Revitalization project, we are looking to do a series of informational sessions for our BHS students on career pathways in these areas and also to provide apprenticeship opportunities for certain students to go deeper in their learning. To accomplish this, building contractor CG Schmidt and architectural firm EUA have enthusiastically agreed to work with BHS administration and teachers in order to coordinate these sessions and opportunities for our students!

Informational Sessions:
We will be targeting Enrichment (9:20-10:00) to conduct the informational sessions for BHS students. Students will be informed ahead of time about these sessions through direct communication from BHS technology education teachers and other forms of announcements at BHS. BHS teachers will also select certain students to attend these sessions who they identify ahead of time as being especially suited for the opportunity. The following are dates that could be targeted for these sessions, but are subject to change depending on speaker availability. The topics also need to be identified with the help of CG Schmidt and EUA:

Friday, January 12    Topic:  EUA Design to Present

Apprenticeships:
We will also be targeting certain students who have demonstrated strong aptitude and interest beyond what is typical in these trade and professional career pathways in order to provide them an opportunity to go deeper in their learning and to shadow laborers and/or professionals who are directly involved in the BHS Revitalization Project.
