When to stay home.....
DEAR PARENT,

As you probably have heard the Flu epidemic has reached concerning levels!  We are asking for your help in keeping everyone healthy.

For the benefit of staff, parents and children in our programs we ask that if you or your child is experiencing any of the following symptoms to please stay at home.  Check out these FUN WEBSITES for kids

Influenza Symptoms
Influenza (also known as the flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by flu viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The flu is different from a cold. The flu usually comes on suddenly. People who have the flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:
  • Fever* or feeling feverish/chills (Fever is defined as having a temperature of 100°F or higher taken under the arm, 101°F taken orally, or 102°F taken rectally.)
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue (tiredness)
  • Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.
* It's important to note that not everyone with flu will have a fever.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you need to stay home and have registered for a CFCE Program, please take the time to contact the CFCE Program Facilitator or the Library where the program is taking place!  Thank you!
