Dancing with Nature

February/March 2018 Issue 2 Vol 8
News, Life and the Art Culture in the Smoky Mountains

It's already been 11 years since termites brought us to Waynesville (that's another story). On a cold, Saturday afternoon in January, a Waynesville realtor with shiny shoes came out to show us a piece of commercial property that turned out not to meet our needs. Then he said, "I heard that Twigs and Leaves might be for sale." The rest is history. But I have often thought, if he with the shiny shoes on a cold, winter Saturday had not agreed to leave his cozy house and then, only in passing, mention Twigs and Leaves, we could have easily ended up in Franklin. Call it serendipity or not; I do. In March we were here. Years have passed and Waynesville has seen the addition of Block Parties' Kids on Main event, the Fourth of July parade, Halloween Treats on the Street, and flower gardens on Wall Street ..... all thanks to a realtor wearing shiny shoes.

Waynesville Gallery Association added three events for the 2018 winter months. We chilled out in January with a chili coo k off, had a heart Warming February, and are preparing for some "Luck of the Art" in March. The first two added much needed activity and excitement to downtown Waynesville and I am sure the St. Patrick's Day line-up will as well. The celebrations last all day Saturday with the galleries doing special events 4-7PM. Each month has a different charity cause attached to it. Come stay and play even when it is a wintry day.

An exciting line up of events is planned for 2018. Check out the links provided and make your plans now. We look forward to seeing you. And if you see the realtor wearing shiny shoes, thank him.
