Russell's Ritings....

Singing is so important in the life of a church. I have often said good music has saved many a bad sermon. I like both the new hymns and the old hymns. I like this lesson about -----

THE WAY WE MIGHT SING HYMNS IF WE WERE HONEST:

There Shall be a Sprinkle of Blessing
I Surrender Some
Fill My Spoon, Lord
Sit Up, Sit Up, for Jesus
My Faith Looks Around For Thee
Pillow of Ages, Fluffed for Me
Just as I Pretend to Be
Take My Life and Let Me Be
Blessed Hunch
Oh, How I Like Jesus
He's Quite a Bit To Me
A Comfy Mattress is Our God
I'm Fairly Certain My Redeemer Lives
Where He Leads Me, I Will Consider Following
Oh, For a Couple of Tongues To Sing
Blest Be the Tie that Doesn't Cramp My Style
Amazing Grace, How Interesting the Sound

I hope to see all of you this, the 2nd Sunday in Lent. The sermon is "The Cross Way of Life" (MK 8: 31 - 38).

'and the folks are friendly'

Russell

ADULT EDUCATION

Sunday, February 25 from 9:30-10:20 am
EFFECTIVE CONFRONTATION AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Facilitator: Dr. Lorna Idol

We will explore research-proven methods for managing conflict and confrontation skillfully throughout the communication and problem-solving process. The presence of conflict is in itself neither good nor bad; it simply exists and should be expected. "True" conflict involves differences of beliefs, facts, values or strategies. The first rule of confrontation is: Do not confront another person if you do not intend to increase your involvement with him or her. We will explore how to know when to confront and how to go about doing so in an effective and healthy way. We will practice using eight specific confrontation skills. We will be utilizing adult education materials from one of Lorna's published professional development programs: Collaboration in the Schools: Communicating, Interacting and Problem Solving.

All are welcome!
