Weekly Letter From Our Pastor

Small Things, Big Difference:  Thoughts
Last weekend we launched a brand new series we hope gives each one of us a strong start and finish for 2018.  Titled, "Small Things, Big Difference," we talked about how it's the small things nobody notices that so often result in the big changes everyone wants.  We began with a challenge:  inviting everyone to ask God for the gift of one word to help define and direct your life in 2018.  Then, once the word's been identified we showed how you can pair it to a Bible verse that will strengthen that connection over the coming 12 months.
In our next installment we turn the focus to thoughts.  Specifically, how to name and reduce the power of negative thoughts in order to make room for the many positive ones God is sending out way that bring health and movement into the kingdom life so central to the life and teaching of Jesus.
It was Martin Luther who said of negative thoughts, "You cannot keep birds from flying over your head but you can keep them from building a nest in your hair."  Even bald guys like me get the old reformer's point:  just because a negative thought comes our way doesn't mean we need to give it air time.  We begin building on the foundation laid last week with this weeks' message, "Small Things, Big Difference:  Thoughts"

Living for Jesus!

Chicken Coop Church
CCC worshipped for the first time the first Sunday in January 2014 and has worshipped as a church every single Sunday since. We will be celebrating 4 years of being church, the first Sunday in 2018. Living Water, as our parent church I hope as many of you as possible are able to come to CCC this Sunday, January 7 to help us give our worship, praise, and thanks to God for CCC and the opportunity to continue Loving and Serving others through Christ in the years to come.  Jesus Loves You!  -Pr. Peter
New Preaching Series: Small Things, Big Difference
Beginning Sunday, December 31 we step into the new year with an exciting new preaching series:  "Small things, Big Difference."  Each week for the next four Sundays we'll be looking at one small thing we can do at the start of 2018 to help us better hear God's voice and follow his lead into the kingdom life and blessings He is preparing for us.  Bring a friend and join us this New Year's Eve!
JAM (Jesus And Me)
Winter/Spring schedules are busy and we are lacking a few teachers for JAM. For the time being, the K-1 class and the 2-4 class will not meet on the last Sunday of each month. Please keep your children with you during church, do not send them to the younger class as it will be full. The 3 year old-4K class will have class every week. See the Facebook JAM page for a more detailed schedule. If anyone has the desire to volunteer to teach, let Christine Ebner know.
This Sunday:
Little Jammers (3year olds-4K) - Mrs. Larson
Middle Jammers (K-1) - Mrs. Fiamoncini
Big Jammers (2-4) - Mrs. Emerson
Carpet Cleaning Team
Carpet Cleaning Team - you guys are awesome!  What a fabulous job you did of moving out, then a few days later hauling EVERYTHING back in the 411 building.  A special thanks goes out to Bryan Wood for setting the chairs straight AND creating a new 'dot' system to help us all keep them that way in the weeks ahead.
New Moms Bible Study: "A Mom Who Doesn't Quit"
What a great way to begin a brand new year:  digging into God's Word, making new friends, sharing in this amazing journey we call, 'following Jesus.'  Start date is set:  Monday, January 8 at 9am.   PLEASE call or text Jennifer Harder (715) 529-7787, Jessica Tischer (715) 205-7765 with any questions.  Sign up is at Clipboard Central.  Note: we'll be ordering books the week of Christmas so please sign up soon!
Baby Liam
The past 4+ months this space in the Weekly Announcements has been a reminder to each of us, of our little brother hospitalized in Rochester, doing his best to grow strong and healthy.  We're so excited that Liam has made the journey from less than 2 lbs. to over 9 lbs, and is now at home with his family in Barron County.  Thanks to everyone for your prayers, your love, your support, your caring.  God is good!

January- LW's Monthly Mission
When it comes to kindness, what we all know and have experienced is this:  small things can make a big difference.  Elsewhere in these Weekly Announcements you'll see a note asking us to share our stories and experiences with kindness over the next 52 weeks.  This month we're using our January Monthly Mission to help kick off a whole year, "Acts of Kindness," inviting you to make an intentional effort at being kind, then sharing that story so that others might be empowered & inspired by your example.  Thanks!  - LW Mission Team
Military Deployment: Austin Thoreen
This past fall our CORE kids wrote letters to a young man from Living Water who is completing a lengthy deployment in the US military, Austin Thoreen, husband of Ashley (Smith) Thoreen.  You'll find Austin's thoughtful reply on the bulletin board in the back of the Worship Center
(next to the pictures of LW's ministry partners).  Thanks!
Meet the Living Water Family of the Week
Names: Kevin, Megan, Blake & Brooklyn Adams
Something interesting about our household:
We are a very busy family as both Kevin and Megan are small business owners in Cameron- Kevin owns Buzz Signs and Graphics and Megan owns Barnyard Buddies Daycare. We are very much involved in dirt track racing as Kevin races a Wissota Modified locally and nationally throughout the year. Blake loves to play football and soccer, while Brooklyn loves dance and riding our horses- we have 5! We love to spend to time together, stay busy and to travel- mostly to Florida, we're snowbirds!
How we became connected to Living Water:
We became connected to Living Water through friends that had asked us to be sponsors to their son.
What we like about Living Water:
We love Living Water because of the the atmosphere, everyone is so welcoming and it truly does feel like home. We also love that fact that the focus is on helping others through Christ.
