                     Your New Year of You

You've probably had your fill of "Happy New Years" already so we will not be either saying that or writing about it.

I know hearing that phrase or even thinking it can induce emotions, can place you in a state of futurizing or in some way divert your attention to an outer world focus.

We are going to be looking at this month when the calendar has changed but perhaps your situation hasn't. And, we're going to refocus on the inner journey.

Let's look at this a little differently so perhaps the next time you hear someone talking about a new year, or change or resolutions, you might have something else to ponder.

Living Differently Tip

 Living Differently Tip:

The following is from my ongoing messages/lessons/guidance shared by and received from the non-physical perspective ...my Guides, aka. Maxx

This message holds a mini-lesson for all of us...
(usually I hear a phrase, a subject or they make a comment and then they explain their lesson...)

                  Happy New Year of You.

"We could state the obvious that your gurus, your spirit teachers, your numerologists tell you but we will not. You have not seen this as a new year. It has never been for you before. It is for you to see with a new perspective, with new eyes, with an opened heart. And how do you do that? (I was thinking that) It is your soul's journey for your new year. This is a new beginning in your life and one you can choose to see in that different light or in one you are familiar with that may not have served you well. If you are to move in the garden of you, your path must be displayed. You must be able to see it. You must be willing to shine a light on it if your light is not. Open paths come with newness surrounding it. It may not be your yellow brick road but it can open new sites/sights in your journey. What do you want? That is your first question of yourself to see your new road to newness. Decide that and then decide that it's not just your decision but it's your commitment to you. You will grow in your commitment to you and you will be able to shine your light on it. (I'm getting lost. Please outline this) New pathway opens - You decided what you want - You decide to follow this route - You commit to the newness of you - You allow your light to shine on your new pathway due to your commitment to yourself. See, it's all in you. It's not a "happy new year" that is flung around person to person. This is your new year of you."

                             **********
Zac Comment:

"They said it all. You all think stating Happy New Year will make it OK for each other but you are the one who makes it a happy new year that is to come or you can not follow their "possibility route" and continue the same as your previous year. It will be a you project today, tomorrow, next month. What is in you and if that is a new you, you will have a happy new year. You can say this year is all-about-you because it is. Live your new year. Live your new year by discovery of what is growing in you not around you."

                             **********

Your spirit helpers are with you all the time. They want to help you and they have a way of letting you know in a way you will understand...
Your job is to learn to trust them! You can have the comfort of your spirit guides and loved ones to ease the burdens of your physical life. I encourage you to embrace your connections.

How Do You See You In Your New Year?

Others' New Years Celebrations

January, our first month of a new year, is again rolling around reminding us of resolutions, fresh new starts and celebrations.

Some people strategize yearly plans and new mindset goals for life changes.

The new year also brings with it many new questions.

What are you going to do in and with the new year?

Some people swallow a dozen grapes symbolizing hope for the coming months. Others eat pork to represent progress and prosperity in the new year. Many people make resolutions promising themselves to start the new year off on the right foot. Many others spend time reflecting on their past and upcoming years.

Your New Year's Celebration

What are your plans? Have you solidified resolutions to better your physical, mental, emotional or spiritual life?

Have you planned to purchase a new home, acquire a new job, take a vacation, binge watch Game of Thrones on television?

How much time did you spend planning that goal?

Did you daydream about it?

Did you do research to learn more information about this goal?

How do you plan to finance it? And, can you afford it?

Where is the money for your goal going to come from?

How are you going to move from your current position to where you want to be within your new year?

Do you have a plan to move from where you are now to where you want to be?

The Process of New You

The You Process is quite similar to that which you might use when planning for a new home, a new job, setting a resolution or a vacation.
                 New Home/Resolution
1.       Identify your desire for the object
2.       Need appears which creates a desire
3.       You decide to make the purchase
4.       Seek, research then commit to options
5.
Follow through with purchase

                 The You Process
1. Identify a new pathway opens (a new year dawns)
2. You choose want/need for your life (in the new year)

3. You decide to follow this want (new pathway)

4. Commit to new path of you

5. Seek inner resources (light) to proceed on pathway

Psychologists say that new year's resolutions do not work for two reasons.

1). The resolutions usually involve a goal that was not met in the previous year. This means you are focusing on something that was not achieved previously. (you know, the regular exercise routine, losing 15 pounds, quitting bad habits)
2). Resolution achievement requires action but making them does not. (the intention gives you instant gratification and therefore the follow-through action is not necessarily required to help you feel good about the resolution!)

The new year can be a new beginning for you if you view you and your path through different eyes, with a different perspective and by opening your heart.

So how do you see you in your new year?

Do you see yourself buying a house or discovering your new (internal) house in the new year?

We create our (physical) homes with planning, with learning and with growth. We renew our new life after loss by living the new year in discovering and unfolding our growing process within.

You are your house.

You can strategize your new year through resolutions. Or, you can become your new you in your new year by getting to know who you are and growing from that inner knowing.

                  Morning Wake up Ritual

This week in meditation I was told (emphatically) to share my morning ritual with all of you because they stated: "this will expose you to your inner wisdom." (I shared this in the June 2017 Living Differently newsletter but it has evolved since that time*)

Please understand that this is not a one-time miracle wonder exercise. This is an ongoing practice that can help you reach a clearer understanding of your current life.

This ritual, not just a physical exercise, sets the stage for your day with positive intention and positive energy.

(and I have to tell you it works: no matter what time I arise in the morning and do this ritual, I open the blinds to two doves perching on the neighbor's roof outside my window more days than not!)

Open - Practice - Live

Open through Gratitude:  Breathe in and hold breath in, hands together (prayer position) at heart chakra, thumbs touching chest, say to yourself: "Open through Gratitude"

Practice through Presence: While holding breath, move hands together above your head, say to yourself: "Practice through Presence"

Live through Acceptance: Exhale, spread arms out and down to sides, say: "Live through Acceptance."

Do three times upon waking, setting the intention for your day of centering yourself, for opening yourself for communication and to help you see yourself in your journey.

(*evolvement means perhaps focusing your "practice through patience" if needed before presence.)

What About Gratitude

                         Self-Gratitude

Many of us do not take care of ourselves and this drains us. This leads to impatience, resentment, anger and more negative emotions.

Healing is not easy when you aren't practicing gratitude for yourself.

Lemons Can Help You Discover You

Wow, I just keep finding out more and more about lemons and I hope my sharing is helpful to you too. (If you've read this newsletter for any length of time, you know I love lemons!)

Well, here's another one!

Besides making me happy* whenever I dust with my Lemon Pledge, I've found (and used) these interesting uses for lemons:

1.   Manicure soak
2. Ant deterrent, (put lemon juice around ant entries to disrupt their scent trails- can't wait to try this next summer!)
3. Freshen refrigerator, garbage disposal and cutting boards
4. Room deodorizer/humidifier (simmer in water with orange peels, cinnamon sticks, cloves)
5. Throw lemon peels in a fire to make the fire smell fresher. (I can't try this as I don't have a wood burning fireplace but if anyone tries this please let me know!)
6. Rehydrate body with lemon juice (and water) to get rid of headaches
7. Place cut lemons in a bowl next to your bed to inhale the scent at night.

(*please know that I am not trying to be a Martha Stewart wanna-be here.  I have learned that lemon is a scent that not only serves with tasks in your physical home but by using it in your physical home, you can help the home of you because it has mood elevating properties, is a stress, anxiety and inflammation reducer and it just might support you in your healing journey.)

Chris Mulligan is an intuitive grief guide, teacher and author of Afterlife Agreements: A Gift From Beyond who is passionate about inspiring and guiding others to choose to live differently after grief, to change their pain to hope and their suffering to living on.  Her passion is fueled by her own transformation when her youngest son, Zac died in 2000 and she found herself enduring a shattered world she did not expect to inhabit. Receiving guidance through signs and communication from her son and other spirits, her life path shifted from living in grief to living on. She discovered her truth when she chose to open her heart and live life differently. From that place, she fearlessly created an abundant life full of gifts, gratitude and grace. A MS in Clinical Child, Youth, and Family Work, 25 years of Adoption Social Work, hospice volunteering, facilitating grief support groups and being her parents' end of life and transitional caregiver have taught her about pain and peace. She frequently speaks on panels and workshops for the bereaved and those working with the bereaved. She loves spending time with her husband and family of two dogs, Nina and Sam, four children and four grandchildren. She has been receiving images and messages from those on the other side for over 17 years and is currently writing a book incorporating their teachings.  Go to http://www.Afterlifebooks.com to learn more.
