Winter Update From
Allison Springer Eventing
Part of the team soaking up the sun in Wellington.

This winter has been very exciting for Allison and her team! After the holidays, they began preparing for their annual move south for the winter. Allison feels strongly that Aiken, South Carolina is the perfect place to base herself early in the season and also loves to take a trip down to Wellington, Florida, to get some early season show jumping and dressage practice in as well. She always enjoys the atmosphere and shows that both Wellington and Aiken have to offer. The farm that she calls home in Aiken has all the amenities that her horses need to flourish and the higher temperatures are always a welcome sight. She is thrilled to be back in the southern states and feels so lucky and thankful to have a barn full of happy and healthy horses.

For the past few days, Allison and her horses have been upping their game in the show jumping arenas at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida. All her horses have been going exceptionally well with a highlight being Lord Willing's clear round in his first 1.30m class. While in Wellington, Allison and her team got in some extra practice in the dressage ring as well. They attended the National Dressage Show at Global this past weekend where all three boys had an exceptional outing. They each performed Third Level test 3 with Lord Willing winning the class on a 74.615%, Business Ben taking home fourth with a 68.205% and Fernhill Casano finishing close behind him in fifth with a 67.949%. This venue hosts the best of the best from not only the nation, but the world and Allison really enjoys getting in the ring as well as watching those around her. Spending some time in Wellington has been the perfect way to prepare for the upcoming eventing season and put all of their hard work over the winter to the test.

To kick off the season officially, Allison plans to head to the Pine Top Intermediate Horse Trials in a few weeks time. It will be a short trip from her winter base in Aiken and promises to be the perfect event to start the season at. This event is known for its excellent cross country and quality course designs and Allison is looking forward to showing off all that they have worked on over the winter. She feels that her horses are going better than ever and she is excited to get the season underway. These next few weeks are sure to be exciting however, she wouldn't be able to do any of it without the support of her incredible village.
