Worship with Us this Weekend!
Join us this Sunday for 9:30am Traditional Worship and/or 11:00am Informal Worship.  Our scriptures are Jonah 3:1-5, 10 and  Mark 1:14-20 with a sermon entitled Second Chances. It wasn't that Jonah didn't hear God, he decided to ignore God and go in the opposite direction of where God called him to go. Jonah would not do what God asked him to do. We have choices all the time as  we consider which ways to go - and we can turn and return as well. How did the disciples discern whether or not to follow Jesus? Was does it mean to go "immediately" as the Gospel says?

AE 9:30 and 11:00 - Our Stewardship Commission will present the Proposed Budget for our ministry and mission 2018. Please come to be a part of it!

Special Saturday Service
Sat, Feb 3 | 5:00pm | Historic Sanctuary
The theme of our Special Saturday Service is Healing and will focus on the scripture of Mark 1:29-39. The Voices of Grace will be featured singing at the service. In addition, we plan on following the service with continued discussion of the scripture content and meaning to us, while sharing a meal together of soup and salad. The meal will be provided for you. The focus and scripture of this special service will be different than the February 4 Sunday service in the new sanctuary.

Every quarter the Worship Commission has organized a special service to gauge the congregation's interest in another time and type of worship. We are in the process of planning a sunset service tentatively in May so we can view and enjoy our magnificent stained glass windows in the new sanctuary while the sun sets.

In addition, we are in the early planning stages of a Taize service in the Historic Sanctuary. If you are not familiar with a Taize service, this form of worship was started in Taize, France following World War II to help promote healing following the war.

A Taizé worship service involves sung and chanted prayers, meditation, a period of silence, liturgical readings, and icons. There is no preaching. Typically the altar is filled with lighted candles.

Dr. Otis Moss III, the video illustrates why communities of faith are uniquely positioned to advocate for climate solutions, and how UCC congregations across the country can join in the movement.
