Desert Door Sotol Captures the Spirit of West Texas
The idea of a truly Texas spirit—a liquor made from a scrubby plant found all over the West Texas desert—fermented in a University of Texas business class, of all places. Since then, three military veterans have transformed Desert Door Texas Sotol from a school project into a full-fledged distillery and tasting room in Driftwood that will open to visitors next week, on Nov. 16. Jeptha Creed Distillery to Fill 500th Barrel on Veteran's Day
Jeptha Creed Distillery is happy to announce it will be filling its 500 th  barrel on the date of the distillery’s first anniversary—which also happens to be Veteran’s Day. To honor the occasion, Jeptha Creed has invited Iraq War veteran Troy Yocum to fill the 500 th  barrel and tap in the bung during a special ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 11. (The Lane Report)

Mad River Launches Second Edition of Hopscotch Whiskey
Mad River Distillers of Vermont has announced the upcoming release of the second edition of its extremely limited Hopscotch Vermont Single Malt Whiskey on Friday, Nov. 17 at select Vermont and Massachusetts retailers and bars. The second Hopscotch release is the result of a collaboration with neighbor and family-operated craft brewer, Stone Corral Brewery. (BevNet)
Conviction Bourbon Leaves Whiskey Prison
