New York State Minimum Wage and Paid Family Leave
Just a reminder that on January 1, 2018 the minimum wage will increase in New York. Click here for more details on the increases and employer responsibilities. Also s tarting January 1, 2018, the New York State Paid Family Leave Program will provide New Yorkers job-protected, paid leave to bond with a new child, care for a loved one with a serious health condition, or to help relieve family pressures when someone is called to active military service. Tax Reform Teach-In
On Wednesday, December 20 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer and Comptroller Scott Stringer will co-host a Tax Reform Teach-In to discuss the ways that the  "Tax Cuts and Jobs Act" bill will impact New Yorkers. Sanitation Service Alerts for Christmas Day and New Year's Day
Due to the back-to-back Monday holidays, the Department of Sanitation has made some changes in trash and recycling collection. Residents will not be required to hold recycling material for multiple weeks and should place their materials out at curbside Monday evening after 4:00pm on both December 25 and January 1Click here for the full press release
Bus Stop Relocation on Columbus Ave
Due to construction in the area, the M11 bus stop at Columbus Avenue between 60th and 61st Streets has been temporarily relocated to 9th Avenue and 59th Street, just one block south. This relocation will be in effect until January 12, 2018 when construction is completed. Alternatively, passengers can catch the M11 at the previous stop, Columbus Avenue and 63rd Street.
