Ginny Lassiter
Ocean Isle Beach, NC
The Ocean Isle Beach resident has always been a creative soul. She's a potter, she paints, she sketches, she designs fabrics. She graduated from East Carolina with a major in art and an emphasis in Interior Design. Whenever she gets the chance, Ginny loves working as a style consultant, helping her friends and clients solve design challenges and create the home of their dreams.
Currently, Ginny works most often in acrylic, creating abstracts and the occasional landscape. "I've been fortunate to study with folks like Sterling Edwards, Joe DiGiulio and Mike Rooney," she says, "and they've really opened my eyes to shapes and textures. I love the whole process of painting abstracts!"
Her work has been featured on the cover of Carolina Arts and ArtGuide magazines.
Lassiter is the owner of Sunset River Marketplace art gallery. Located in Calabash, NC, it's a large eclectic gallery offering activities for children and adults, professionals and amateurs, locals and visitors. Ginny has been profiled in Sasee magazine and has also been featured on the ATMC cable TV program.
She often leads the gallery's Paint & Party events, where locals and visitors (who aren't necessarily artists) have a chance to create their own pieces of art in a casual and fun atmosphere.
