Two-year grants totaling $2.71 million were awarded to 16 nonprofit groups that provide services and technical assistance to emerging businesses and entrepreneurs in Minnesota.  
Congratulations to Southern Minnesota Initiative, Owatonna - $160,000
The group serves 20 counties of southern Minnesota ( includes Waseca County)  through programs and services that foster economic and community vitality.

Reminder: Employers Must File Forms W-2 by January 31
Just a reminder that January 31, 2018 is the deadline for filing 2017 Forms W-2 and W-3 with the Social Security Administration (SSA). The January 31 deadline also applies to certain Forms 1099-MISC reporting non-employee compensation, such as payments to independent contractors. In addition, the January 31 deadline for employers to furnish copies of Forms W-2 and 1099-MISC to employees and independent contractors continues to apply.

Employers may request one 30-day extension to file Form W-2 by submitting a complete application on Form 8809, Application for  Extension of Time to File Information Returns . The IRS will only grant the extension in extraordinary circumstances or catastrophe.   Click here for more information regarding Form W-2 filing.
