The rafters were ringing and space was at a premium at the new Lewis Arts Complex on the campus of Princeton University, as the Trenton Music Makers, and their special guests the Trenton Youth Orchestra and the LeVan Sisters, gave a concert honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
We played a range of American Roots Music, celebrating both its diverse cultural influences and the harmony that follows when we listen and play together. Trenton Youth Orchestra played music from Star Wars, and Brian Balmages'
Danza Latina, featuring the dazzling Ashanti Ross, who was our student when she was a child! And Princeton students The LeVan Sisters treated us to some pretty flashy gypsy music.
To close, everyone came together to sing, play, and teach our audience "Babumba," which has no words and therefore no language barrier.
