2018 Budget
This Sunday, our Treasurer, Dan George will lead us through a line-by-line discussion of the 2018 Christ Church budget. This is your opportunity to see how your pledge money is invested in the Kingdom for the coming year. You are encouraged to come and ask any questions that his presentation raises for you. This was put together by the Budget Committee (The Rector, Treasurer, Wardens, and Lawson Whitesides) and will be voted on by the Vestry at their meeting on January 22.

New Musical Composition by Richard Clemmitt
Our 9:30 service on Sunday morning will begin with a new musical composition by Richard Clemmitt. The piece, Meditation on an Irish Melody, is a short set of variations on the hymn "Be Thou My Vision." It is scored for double bass and piano and will be played by Daniel Meyers and Jay Peterson. Rod Quainton and Nanci Priest commissioned the new work as a gift for their sister-in-law, Susan Long Quainton, on the occasion of her 80th Birthday. She will be present along with her family.  Please join us on Sunday morning, promptly at 9:30 as we begin our worship together with this lovely new music.

Stephanie Emrich - Vestry Nominee
Inspired by her grandfather's ideals at his Disney World-area hotel, Stephanie's guest service and customer communication journey began at the front desk of Chicago's Drake Hotel. With years of international and domestic client interactions in an array of complex and mundane situations, she founded ServiceSpeaks. She uses her "Be My Guest" mantra in every form of communication, a skill required by every Les Clefs d'Or Concierge. As Founding President of the National Customer Service Association (NCSA) Chicagoland, every day centers on the culture of service and communication. Stephanie is ready to roll up her sleeves, having served on The Art Institute of Chicago Auxiliary Board, the Junior League of Chicago and the Chicago Architecture Foundation Board of Directors.

Mary Jo McMillin - Vestry Nominee
Born into a church focused home, Mary Jo was active in the Presbyterian Church until she experienced Episcopal Church liturgy and music during college years. She joined Holy Trinity Church, Oxford Ohio, twenty years later. 2008 brought a move to Wilmette to be near her children and their families. Mary Jo discovered Christ Church at a summer beach service, and when Carol Schroeder asked if she'd like to join the choir, she was all in. Mary Jo has two adult children, twin teen aged grand daughters and an active 4-year old grandson who greets you here at Christ Church.

Following a career as a caterer, restaurateur, food writer and teacher, Mary Jo now bakes CC altar bread and cooks for many of our church events. She has two published books: Mary Jo's Cuisine: A Cookbook (Orange Frazer Press 2007) , detailing her 18 years as a restaurateur and The Njombe Road (Glass Lyre Press 2017), a memoir describing life in rural Tanzania in the early 1960's. Mary Jo has written for newspapers, NPR and blogs at:  www.mjcuisine.wordpress.com

As we seek peace, justice and environmental sustainability, Mary Jo believes our stewardship often begins on our plates-what we plant, what we buy, what we feed ourselves and what we waste.

A life-long Episcopalian, and has been a member of Christ Church for 22 years since she moved to Winnetka with her husband, Andrew, and their sons. She is a member of Rummage Steering, Local Outreach, Christmas Angels, Altar Guild, the Funeral Reception Committee and chair of Family Promise. She has taught church school and attended several choir trips with her sons. Professionally, Elizabeth has taught elementary and high school and recently retired as an instructor in Northwestern's School of Education and Social Policy. Christ Church serves twice a month at A Just Harvest, a community kitchen in Rogers
Park, serving dinner 365 days a year to anyone in need. This is a great family
opportunity to "reach out." We need cooks (done in your home), servers (age 12+), and people to provide milk, fruit, and salad each time we are "on deck."

If you have any questions please contact Suzie Peregrine or Jenny Smith .
