To all FCCC members, thank you for a fantastic year!
2017 was special in so many ways, starting in February when we created our last Carl Casper display. It was a winning display with the fitting title-"Last Call". FCCC has been displaying at Carl Casper since 1985. It will seem strange this year not going out to the
Fairgrounds.
Special thanks to all the members who helped create, set-up and tear down, and those who showed their cars over the years.
We had the largest turnout ever (close to 60 people) at the Super Bowl party. Several club members pocketed $500 each quarter.
In June, we had our best car show EVER with a total of 193 cars. We were able to raise over $5,000 for our charity-The Louisville Metro Police Officer and Family Relief Fund. We had a very profitable auction and our 50/50 was worth $1,050 to the winner!
We moved our car cruise to The Kosair Temple off Bardstown Road and what a terrific decision that turned out to be! We made money every month, the food was delicious, and the venue had a bar which did very well. We even had the most cars at a cruise since our Dixie Highway Tumbleweed days. Thanks again to all the members who turned out to help and support the cruise.
During the summer, we had monthly Sunday drives which were a huge success! Our largest turnout was 35 cars-good drives, good food, and good times. Special thanks to Steve Conley for organizing the additional "impromptu" drives which also had strong turnouts.
We took honors at car shows all summer winning trophies at every turnout. Thanks to all the members who represented the club at the car shows and congratulations to the winners!
The year ended with the best turnout ever for the 2017 Christmas party. We had over 80 people in attendance and enjoyed great food, lots of fun and over $1,200 worth of cash and prizes.
Our membership soared to 145 by the end of the year-we are hoping to see everyone again in 2018. We also closed out the year with the largest balance in our Treasury. All this was made possible by the great members of FCCC.
As President, the Board and I are only as strong as the membership. We could not do it without you all and we appreciate the support and involvement of all the members. Thank you for a great year, for your friendship and your help.
Let's hope 2018 is just as good as 2017-or even better!
