From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal

Dear Parents,

Happy second week of Lent!  It has been great hearing all of the wonderful things our students are doing during this Lenten season.  Prayer, fasting, and almsgiving have all been a part of discussion in classrooms.  It's not too late to work toward being a better you!

Dr. Kathie Amidei (our parish Pastoral Associate of Lifelong Faith Formation) wrote a beautiful article in this week's bulletin referring to thoughts from Pope Francis. Read her article here.

The school children will be praying the Stations of the Cross on Mondays at 1:30.  Please join us, if you are able.

Blessings!
Mrs. Knippel

Lenten Collection

Together with the school and parish, we will pack these bags during our Parish Mission, Tuesday, March 6th, 6-7:30pm. Sign your chidren up to participate in this evening of service.

We are collecting the following hygiene items:
soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toilet paper, wash cloths, toothbrushes, small tissues, hand/body lotion, and hand sanitizer.
Items can be travel or regular size. Travel size items will go to St. Ben's Homeless Shower Program and regular size go to the House of Peace's emergency hygiene pantry for families and individuals at risk of becoming homeless.
Through March 5th, your child can bring in any of the items and drop them off in the respective boxes outside of the science lab or with their classroom teachers. We will also accept cash donations that will be used to purchase the remaining items.
The Capuchin Friars work to prayerfully build sister-brotherhood in the world through their attention to the basic spiritual and human needs of those around them, especially the poor and disenfranchised. We thank you for your donations and dedication to service.
