35 Years of Leadership Palm Beach County
Message from the 2017-2018 President of Leadership Palm Beach County

By Charles D. Frazier

Happy New Year, leaders !

As we enter our 35th year, OUR MISSION REMAINS to educate and unite leaders to build a better community through our core programs, popular signature events, and philanthropic civic engagement work. This overarching principle has allowed us to make a positive difference in Palm Beach County since 1983, and we will continue to move forward to new achievements in the exciting months ahead.

Over the past year, the Board of Governors, Executive Committee and staff have been focused on bolstering five Strategic Imperatives: strong programs, engaged alumni, enhanced brand, increased investments and a solid operational foundation. The results of these efforts have been compelling: significant increase in positive evaluations of our ENGAGE, GROW & ASPIRE programs, alumni who are aggressively engaged in event attendance (as witnessed by the standing room only Holiday Breakfast) and a marked uptick in volunteers seeking to join our many committees. Further, we have continued to boast a strong operational foundation with strict adherence to our financial policies resulting in a nearly flawless annual audit.

In our immediate future, we will partner with our past Presidents to provide a solid base for LPBC's historic ethics initiative, we will participate in four regional Workforce Housing subcommittees, we will consider a very unique opportunity for community engagement and increased relevancy, and importantly, we will reach a significant milestone with the graduation of our 35th adult leadership class.

With so much going on, NOW is the time for you to get freshly involved in our organization!

Right now, the most constructive step you can take for LPBC is to consider Board service. We have solidified our foundation financially and operationally, and the time is upon us to advance our goals for the coming years. Selection of the Board and its visionary Officers is administered by the Board Development Committee (BDC) and that process will begin next month. Keep an eye on your inbox for more information and please reach out to me directly with any questions. Board service is open to all active (dues paid) alumni.

Lastly, I remain honored and humbled to take on the tremendous responsibility of serving as your President. I am committed to the success of our organization and would love to hear from you if you have suggestions, thoughts, comments or perhaps are interested in volunteering at any of our events. Feel free to contact me here and let's make this a remarkable year together!

Perpetually forward,

Charles D. Frazier
2017-2018 President of Leadership Palm Beach County
