CAMA Manitoba News & Updates December  2017
President's Message
Due to the success of our professional development day, Agronomy 101, held in September, presented by Sherpa Marketing and hosted by Richardson International, we're a whole lot smarter on how our food is grown. Thanks to the 50+ members who joined us.

A big congrats to all of the local winners of BEST of CAMA held in Regina in November. If you weren't able to join us, you missed a great event and, leading up to the big awards gala evening, some thought provoking speakers during CAMA Saskatchewan's professional development.

We have our first of four Lunch & Learns for the new season on December 14th. Enns Brothers is welcoming us into their home. Don't know much about this local farm equipment success story? No problem. We've got Kevin Comte, VP Ag and Shannon Enns, Ag Marketing presenting on their tried and true marketing approach. Click here to register and see below for more details. And save the date for our next Lunch & Learn to be held at Versatile on March 22nd.

You'll also want to "re-mark" your calendar for our day and a half  Earning Public Trust conference, rescheduled to April 26 and 27, 2018. There is no greater challenge facing the entire agricultural industry than that of earning and maintaining the trust of the consumer. We've got an incredible line up including some of North America's most proactive organizations. Full details and registration information will be available in January.

And as always, a big personal thank you goes out to our Board. To learn more about these incredible ag and food leaders, go to our website.

Sincerely,

Robert Mensies
President, CAMA Manitoba

CAMA MB Annual General Meeting (AGM) Minutes

We are all responsible for earning public trust.
Earning public trust is about doing the right thing, assurance and verification, and communicating these commitments.

There is no greater challenge facing the entire agricultural industry than that of earning and maintaining the trust of the consumer. CAMA Manitoba saw a need to provide professional development to our diverse membership representing the entire value chain of agri-marketers, communicators, brand leaders, producer groups, media and government.

CAMA Manitoba is hosting Canada's agricultural industry at our Earning Public Trust - An Interactive Working Session professional development event on April 26 & 27, 2018 at the Delta Winnipeg.

  • The full-day working session will feature representatives from some of Canada's leading agri-businesses, ag representatives and food brands.
  • Speakers will present their marketing and communications case studies, describing how they have contributed to earning the trust of the consumer.
  • In groups, attendees will work through each case study to reveal the best practices and common elements.
  • The additional half-day strategic planning session will use the previous day's best practices to help attendees apply them in the development of a Public Trust Strategic Plan.
Our confirmed speaker line-up includes:

Hope Bagozzi, Sr. Director National Marketing for McDonald's Canada

Tim Faveri, VP, Sustainability & Shared Value for Maple Leaf Foods

Cherilyn Nagel , outspoken farmer, Past President of Western Canadian Wheat Growers, Facilitator - Real Dirt on Farming, Speaker and International Director of Global Farmer Network.
