Parents, Guardians Encouraged to Update Contact Information
Parents and guardians are encouraged to make sure that their contact information is up to date with their child's school in the event that the school or School District needs to contact you.
If you have had a change of phone number or address since registering your child for the school year, or are not receiving calls from your school, please contact your school's data processor to make the changes to your student's records.

New App Will Allow Students to Report Concerns Directly to Local Enforcement
The School District of Palm Beach County and District Police Department are joining with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office to provide students and parents with a new tool to connect schools directly with law enforcement.
The app, called Student Protect, allows students, parents and staff to report threats and suspicious activity directly to local law enforcement. It also has the ability for the user to dial 911 and have the exact GPS location of their mobile device sent to first responders. Users can also subscribe to specific schools to receive alerts and notifications from law enforcement. Learn more...

Medical Academy Students at Pahokee High School Conduct Genetic Research
Students enrolled in the Medical Sciences program at Pahokee High School are going above and beyond the content in their textbooks, conducting trailblazing research into genetically inherited diseases.
Dr. Ofelia Chacon, the Medical Sciences instructor at Pahokee, was named the recipient of a $3,000 grant from Toshiba to purchase instrumentation that enables students to isolate genomic DNA and diagnose diseases such as Sickle Cell Anemia. Studies are underway at the school, and students couldn't be more excited about participating in this cutting edge research.
