This weekend at St. Augustine

"When I seek You, my God, what I am seeking is a life of happiness." ~St. Augustine

In the second reading for this Sunday , St. Paul shares with us one of the most comforting messages in the entire New Testament. His words, in a series of rhetorical questions, echo those from the first reading in which the actions of Abraham, who did not withhold his only son, prefigure the actions of God who, out of love for us, did not spare His only Son and for our sake, even handed Him over to be crucified. Knowing that we have nothing less than the Creator of the Universe on our side, we can face the trials of this world with courage and hope. As you prepare for Mass, here is a question for reflection: with the knowledge and confidence that God is “for us” how can I help others who are struggling with trials of their own?

Fish Bake tonight!! Friday, February 23rd, 4:30-6:30pm in the parish center. Enjoy delicious haddock fillets, french fries or rice, coleslaw, clam chowder, and desserts. There will be pizza for the kids and live entertainment. Ends in time for Stations of the Cross afterwards.
