Students may choose to make a crib, lap, twin or queen sized quilt. Store sample is a lap size quilt.

Cutting and sewing homework is required.

Test-drive one of our computerized sewing machines to complete your quilt.

Edge to Edge Quilting in the Hoop
Teacher: Diane Juskelis
Date:
Saturday, February 3
Time: 10:00am-5:00pm

Have you wanted to use your embroidery machine for a new in-the-hoop technique?

Do you want to use your embroidery machine to quilt some of your projects?  If you answered yes to either of these, then this class is for you!

Learn the Edge-to-Edge Quilting Technique in the hoop while making 4 appliqued placemats.  Students will learn how to mark fabric, embroidery machine applique a leaf pattern, and edge-to-edge quilt all 4 placemats at one time.    You should be able to finish the placemats in class and then cut and bind them at home.

Your embroidery machine should have a hoop to fit a 158x 275mm (6.15x10.7") design.  For Pfaff and Viking owners this is the 360x200 mm hoop.  If your machine can only stitch a design that is 5x7" (240x150 mm hoop for Pfaff/Viking) you can take this class, however you may not be able to finish all the quilting in class due to the number of times you must hoop the quilting design.

For applique part of the project you will need a hoop to fit approximately a 5x5" design (either the 150x150 mm hoop for Pfaff/Viking owners or the 240x150 mm hoop).

Design files are available in the following formats: VP3, HUS, ART, DST, EXP, JEF and PES.

All students should know how to use the positioning function on their machine.

You must be familiar with how to operate your embroidery machine if you do not own a Pfaff or Viking machine.

Please bring a lunch.
