Federal Policy Update
|
|
On Monday, February 12, President Trump released his budget proposal for FY19 that included no funding for 21st Century Community Learning Centers. Also zeroed out was the Corporation for National and Community Service, the agency that provides funds for AmeriCorps, VISTA, and SeniorCorps volunteers.
It is recommended that you follow discussions in both the House of Representatives and Senate appropriations committees to get a sense for what the two chambers are planning for funding the programs. The President's budget is just a proposal, and next it goes to the House and Senate for their proposals before the two chambers come to agreement on a final appropriations bill.
