Please Pray for

"With heavy hearts, NCEA and Catholic school communities around the country stand united to offer prayers of solace for the families of the victims, the injured, the first responders and hospital staff and all of those in the Parkland community.  Together we pray that all of those affected will feel God's compassion and comfort as they struggle to restore hope and security in their lives."

Dear School Families,
We had an incredible day with our junior high students and a timely assembly on #ICANHELP.  Mrs. Kim Karr with #Icanhelp gave our students real life examples of social media posts, discussed what it means to have a digital footprint, how to have a positive digital presence and proper/positive uses of social media.   The assembly covered the importance of character, kindness, standing up for others, as well as sharing ideas on what students can do to make a difference on their campus.
I had a wonderful conversation with Mrs. Karr on devices and the effects of social media.  We hold our children's hands and teach them how to cross the street.  We teach them when to stop, when to look and when to go, and then one day we let them go on their own.  It should be the same with electronic devices.  We should be teaching them how to use their devices in a responsible manner.
What does your digital imprint look like?  I know mine is full of family, Maui, healthy food recipes and the Pope's inspirational messages.   Let's show our children how to be positive, share encouraging words and to "be dramatic" about positive things!
Father Bart's message to our student body on Ash Wednesday was a beautiful start of our Lenten journey.  It is Jesus' love that gives us the power to be positive, encouraging and hopeful.   We are blessed to hear that message on love and Jesus.  Let us pray for all those families who need Jesus' love.
Please join us for mass tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. Our 7th Grade students have prepared a beautiful Stations of the Cross immediately following the mass.
In Partnership,

Mrs. Fely Fajardo
Interim Principal
