Matanot L'Evyonim Campaign
|
Contribute to the YIS
Matanot
L'Evyonim Campaign!
One of the central Mitzvot of Purim is to give gifts to the poor, Matanot L'Evyonim.
All funds contributed will be distributed on Purim to those in need, in observance of this very special mitzvah that is incumbent upon all of us in commemoration of Chag Purim.
Please note: All Matanot L'Evyonim funds will be distributed to Project Leket, helping feed needy families in Israel every day. Funds will also be distributed to Od Yosef Chai for distribution to the needy in Jerusalem on Purim day itself.
To make your contribution, click here and select "Matanot L'Evyonim" from the drop down box under Donation information or send your checks to the shul office.
Leket Israel,
Israel's National Food Bank, addresses the paradox of nutritional insecurity and large scale food waste in Israel by over rescuing millions of pounds of excess food annually from 1,000 food producers for distribution to 140,000+ needy Israelis on a weekly basis. For each dollar received, Leket Israel rescues and delivers 10 pounds worth of fresh produce for one needy person for a week.
Od Yosef Chai supports over 8,000
needy families, including widows and orphans, newly immigrants, terrorist victims, the sick and elderly, especially before the holidays. Food, new clothing, shoes, gift certificates and financial assistance is provided. Many families in severe financial straits are too embarrassed to ask for help. Their staff of volunteers seeks out these families and provides them support in a dignified and anonymous manner.

Update Yahrzeit Information in Shul Cloud
|
If you have suffered the loss of a family member and wish to be notified of the Yahrzeit please log into ShulCloud with your username and password. Once you are in your account click on the Yahrzeit Tab, 3
rd tab from the left on the top. Click Add Yahrzeit. This will take you to Create New Yahrzeit. The fields are self-explanatory. For accuracy of the notification, it is important to know if the deceased died before or after sundown. You will then receive a ShulCloud generated notice by email or hard copy if no email address is on file from the Synagogue prior to the date that the Yahrzeit will be observed.
If you are unable to log in or need help to input the information into the system please contact Marsha Lustig who will be happy to help you.

The AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, DC brings the Israel lovers of the world together in discussion and shared advocacy for our homeland. This coming year, Policy Conference will take place March 4-6. It promises to be an incredible experience; just ask anyone who has attended in previous years.
Last year, our community brought 79 people to Washington! This year, we can - and must - do more.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the State of Israel, and we need to show our support. I not only ask that you join me in Washington, but I also ask that you spread the word about the conference and encourage others to come too. Bring your spouse. Bring your high-school or college aged children. Bring a good friend. Be there! Even if you cannot attend for the entire time, come for some of the conference. We promise it will stir your heart and encourage you to become more active in strengthening the US-Israel relationship.
Thank you for all that you do to support Israel, and I look forward to seeing you at the Policy Conference in March. To register for Policy Conference please visit http://www.policyconference.org.

If you would like to get rid of:
* All clothing
* Linens
Get rid of the mess and get a mitzvah!
In addition to a mitzvah, you will receive a valuable tax deduction as well!
We are collecting these items for an
organization called
KUPATH EZRAH OF ROCKLAND COUNTY

All items should be clean and in good shape, clothing should be up-to-date and still fashionable.
Remember: you are
giving these things to a 'close relative,' and it costs the organization money to sort
and dispose of poor merchandise.
Currently Scott Greenbaum is not able to take your donations to Monsey. Volunteers would be appreciated. Please contact Scott if you are able to help:
