On Tuesday, February 13, the SUSD Governing Board got an update on life cycle improvements, specifically those pertaining to campus security and student safety. Those security upgrades include new classroom door hardware (fully installed at two schools, so far) and a new emergency lock-down system that will allow schools to secure their campus more quickly in an emergency.
The senseless tragedy in Florida this week emphasizes the need to constantly evaluate and update SUSD security, and these improvements are an important step forward.
